About

The main aim of the ITEC/VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy is to enable Learners to gain the necessary practical skills and knowledge to provide Sports Massage Therapy to the general public, gain employment within the sport and fitness industry and to enrich Practitioners’ understanding of advanced anatomical, physiological and pathological principles relevant to the application of Sports Massage. It includes roles such as restorative and corrective massage using a range of basic and advanced techniques.  Practitioners will also learn how to plan and evaluate Sports Massage treatments to inform the provision of future treatments.

To ensure our graduates are 'ahead of the game' within the Sports Massage industry, we go above and beyond the normal Sports Massage syllabus and include a wider range of myofascial and soft tissue techniques.   Graduates will receive an additional Level 4 Soft Tissue Therapy Diploma.

Entry Requirement

There is no prerequisite for this course, however you will need to attend an introduction to sports massage weekend on 4th and 5th April OR 9th and 10th May 2020, if you do not hold a massage qualification. ***

Scope of Qualification (Practice)

At level 4 a Sports massage therapist’s role includes, planning, providing and evaluating sport massage treatments. Treatments in context; sports massage can be carried out for pre, post, inter, maintenance, restorative and corrective purposes (focus on muscle and paratendon pathologies), using a range of basic and advanced massage techniques.

Scope of practice includes working on dysfunctional tissue and on recent non acute injuries or with pre-existing conditions. 

Duration

A minimum of 13 days in-class days, plus home study, plus 100 hours case studies. 

All dates are plus 1 additional consolidation and assessment day, taken upon completion of home study/written assignments and case studies.

Cost

Full Price – £1299.00 can be paid in interest free instalments after a deposit of £200.

Pay in full at time of enrollment – £1170.00 (10% discount for full payment)

Course Date:

Weekdays: 27th April to 1st May; 18th to 22nd May; 22nd and 23rd June plus one/two other day (tbc) for your final assessment.
